The Not Quite Quiet Choir began in Wellington some time in the late 1990's, and performed sporadically over the next decade. The choir was open to anyone with a desire to explore the possibilities of their voice and utilised conduction methods ā la Butch Morris. Over the decade the choir collaborated with numerous visiting artists, and was a regular feature of the annual Bomb the Space Festival.
The first track is from a night of collaborations with three extraordinary vocalists/musicians who were in town to collaborate on a project titled 'Secret Sounds' - Phil Dadson (Auckland), Makigami Koichi (Japan) and Mark Van Tongeren (Netherlands).
The second set is from the Bomb the Space Festival in 2003 and features cameos by the legendary Red Mole/Roadworks actor Ksenjia Chobanovich, Elephantman Chris Palmer and Vitamin S stalwart Darren Hannah. For each set the NQQC was accompanied by a band, more or less the Dodecahedrons.
An incomplete list of NQQC participants is included.
